PLAZA DE TOROS NEIGHBOURHOOD.

This is the second largest neighbourhood in the Northern District of the city of Palma de Mallorca.

​

It belongs to the central neighbourhoods that form part of the first ring of the Ensanche and is located between the neighbourhoods of Marqués de la Fuensanta, Archiduque, Buenos Aires and Son Oliva.

The neighbourhood is structured by the Archiduque Luis Salvador shopping street, which concentrates small shops, and the Paseo de Jacinto Verdaguer, which is the extension of the central Parque de las Estaciones, as the main axes that cross it from north to south.

The neighbourhood owes its name to the Balearic Coliseum (the old Bullring) which forms part of the city's historical heritage and is located on Avenida Gaspar Bennàssar in the neighbourhood. In 2018 it had a population of 16,103 inhabitants.

The neighbourhood has two important health centres: the Red Cross Hospital and the Arquitecto Bennàssar Health Centre. There is also the Casal de barrio Can Alonso at Calle de Castellarnau, 4, which is managed by companies and organisations that organise workshops, courses and activities of a socio-cultural, educational and leisure nature for people aged sixteen and over.
